Responsibilities

As an operations engineer in the Pipeline Network – sewage line, you will have a broad and varied role. Together with two engineering colleagues and 14 operations technicians, you will work to ensure that the sewage network operates safely, efficiently, and sustainably.

In our daily work, we use both flushing vehicles and TV buses and work with both preventive and urgent maintenance efforts. We are also responsible for ponds, reservoirs, and other important facilities related to the sewage network. Our assignment encompasses a total of 260 miles of sewage pipes – from the city center out to the southern archipelago. To ensure the whole system works, we collaborate closely with the unit for pump stations and pressure pipelines.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Monitoring and analysis – you will produce statistics, follow up on operational results, and identify improvement measures. Some work will take place in the field.
• Projects and development – you will participate in projects as the representative of the pipeline owner, which means you will monitor the operation and maintenance perspective in everything from smaller contracts to larger urban development projects.
• Measurement and monitoring – you will become a key person in the work with a new flow measurement project, where you will be involved from startup to management.
• Collaboration – you will collaborate with operations technicians, other units, and administrations, and have contacts with property owners, contractors, authorities, and the environmental administration in supervision matters.
• Stormwater issues – you will participate in the competence group for stormwater and contribute with technical support and development work.
• Preventive work – you will help develop routines, work methods, and digital tools that ensure robust water and sewage operations in the long term.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• High school education with a technical focus
• Vocational education in water/sewage technology or equivalent work experience
• Relevant university education
• At least 3–5 years of experience in a technical field, preferably from operations, maintenance, or civil engineering contracts
• Good knowledge of digital systems such as the Office package and the ability to work with data analysis
• Driving license B

We place great importance on personal qualities.

It is advantageous if you have:

• Experience from projects or contracts and an understanding of responsibility distribution and legal grounds
• Knowledge in water operations, hydraulics, or pump technology
• Experience with VA-banken or similar operation/maintenance systems
• Experience working with statistics, SCADA systems, or analysis and use of numerical data
